Innovative Treatments that Produce Results
Autism Relationship Treatment
This new, effective treatment gives children with autism a second chance to re-experience key stages of development that are often disrupted by the disorder. Re-developing these areas helps children further their social and neurological growth leading to significant improvements in their social and emotional behavior.
ART addresses most of the core deficits of autism and has shown significant benefits to autistic children in the following areas:
- Emotional connections
- Referencing others
- Interactive play
- Acceptance of change
- Expressive language
- Episodic memory
- Gross motor regulation
- Flexibility
Neurofeedback
This safe, non-medication approach uses EEG sensors to monitor brain wave patterns. This data is then used to teach the brain to self-regulate to assist with difficulties such as anxiety, concentration, hyperactivity, depression, speech, emotions, and other problem areas.
Gentle Teaching
The Autism & Behavioral Support Center’s clinical staff has extensive experience in the practice of Gentle Teaching, which was developed by John McGee, Ph.D., of the Gentle Teaching Institute in Omaha, Nebraska. Gentle Teaching creates an environment of trust, engagement, and shared interactions. It encourages developing an atmosphere where an individual feels safe and loved, is able to give love to others, and feels connected with others.
